5. Use of Stations
Any member company of CIMAP may activate the network or any portion thereof for the purpose of requesting aid or transmission of information regarding an emergency, and any other additional information related to plant activities that may affect other member companies.
Operating Procedures
a) Voice Transmission
In order that a message be received with as much clarity as possible, the operator transmitting the information should train themselves to speak slowly and directly into the microphone. The loudness of voice that is normally used on the telephone is usually sufficient to properly operate the average microphone.
b) Network Control
Air Products will act as the base station for the CIMAP organization. All initial requests for a CIMAP emergency or alert should be directed at network control.
c) Notification
To activate the radio network, the member company employee calls the base station at Air Products and states:
Company Unit Number
Company Name
Employee Name
Type of incident
Emergency classification level he/she is declaring
What assistance their company requires.
If CIMAP representatives are to respond, the member company experiencing the problem should provide a staging area for the responding representatives.
