Hagerstown Community Advisory Panel
Hagerstown Community Advisory Panel
A community advisory panel (CAP) is a small group of citizens who represent the fabric of their community and who have made a commitment to meet with the management of the local industry on a regular basis to discuss issues of mutual interest. It is an independent body that involves all key audiences and reflects the diversity within the community.
The Holcim (US) Community Advisory Panel (CAP) is comprised of your friends and neighbors interested in the operations of Holcim (US) in Hagerstown, Maryland. We represent many segments of the Hagerstown community. We are emergency responders, elected officials, business persons, regulators, retirees, health care providers, environmentalists, and educators who want to be a liaison between our neighbors and the company. We are all volunteers and serve only to advise. We are not a decision making body for Holcim (US); however, our goals are to reach a common ground and build trust between the community and Holcim (US).
Meetings of the Community Advisory Panel are open to the public. For more information about the CAP, please contact CAP facilitator Ann Green at (800) 784-4343 or via e-mail at AGreen@anngreencomm.com.
Advisory Panel Provides Important Link to Community

Hagerstown quarry and plant have been part of the community for
over 100 years and employ approximately 112 people. The
Hagerstown complex produces 550,000 metric tons of cement
annually.
Cement manufactured from the
limestone extracted at their quarry is the main bonding agent in
concrete, one of the most widely used and durable construction
materials in the world.
The Holcim (US) team in Hagerstown is committed to operating safely. Holcim (US) in Hagerstown became the first cement plant in the United States to obtain the internationally recognized ISO 14001 certification for their environmental management system.
Holcim (US) is not only focused on safety and the environment, but is committed to social responsibility. In 2007, the Hagerstown facility gave $47,000 in support of various community organizations. Holcim (US) is proud of the contributions made to the local economy.
