What is a CAT?

In the late 1980s, citizens of the greater Calvert City area of Marshall and Livingston counties created the Calvert City Community Advisory Team (CAT).

Made up of local citizens and representatives of many Calvert City Industrial Complex companies, the Calvert City CAT seeks to promote understanding and to maintain open lines of communication between citizens and industry.

We meet most months to discuss issues of concern to area citizens and companies.  Community members and company representatives sit together on subcommittees that audit local emergency preparedness plans and infrastructure.

In addition, CAT members promote science and technology education and encourage public awareness of critical issues facing the area.
